Rebrand for The May Fair Bar

I was brought on by The May Fair Bar to assist in their rebrand, creating a cocktail and food menu experience relating to the art of travel.

The concept

The brief was to sound and feel like a travel magazine, so I created two versions of the menus - By Night (for cocktails) and By Day (for daytime food menu). The idea was to tap into the way we explore when we travel, i.e. by day and by night.

This was the concept overview I crafted for the By Night menu:

“To us, the idea that ‘travel broadens the mind’ stems from an exhilarating journey of sensory stimulation.

By feeling, listening, seeing, smelling and tasting, we learn and grow as individuals, becoming more attuned to our surroundings and more appreciative of other cultures. May Fair Bar by night opens a window to the world with the intention of both delighting and challenging your senses, drawing inspiration from beautiful places, joyous traditions and local delicacies from across the globe. Each of our cocktails has been meticulously crafted using innovative techniques and premium produce, complemented by a food menu of night bites.”

Cocktail naming & descriptions

Each cocktail was inspired by places, traditions, and delicacies from across the world, so my task was to think of enticing cocktail names that would be easily understood, along with visceral descriptions that would transport you to another place.

Food menu creation

The daytime food menu was also treated like a travel magazine. The challenge was to have fun with the theme without making it naff or cliché.

If you’d like to see the entire menu, please get in touch or visit The May Fair Bar’s website.
